Smile Dental Centre in Basildon are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced GDC-registered Specialist Periodontist to join our team and play a key role in developing and growing our specialist periodontal service. This position is offered on a part-time basis with flexibility on days and hours so please apply to discuss further.
This is an exciting opportunity for a clinician who wants to develop their clinical practice, build professional relationships and contribute to the growth of a specialist referral service.
The successful candidate will grow a dedicated periodontal referral service, welcoming referrals from general dental practitioners and other dental practices across Basildon, Essex and the surrounding areas. They will have the opportunity to help develop this service, build relationships with local dental practices and establish a strong reputation for specialist periodontal care.
We are keen to create a trusted referral pathway for patients requiring specialist periodontal assessment and treatment, while working collaboratively with referring dentists to ensure continuity of care.
This role would suit a specialist who is passionate about periodontics and interested in helping to develop a growing referral base, with the potential to expand the service over time.
The successful candidate will provide specialist periodontal care, including:
- Comprehensive periodontal examinations, assessment and diagnosis.
- Management of periodontal disease, including complex cases.
- Non-surgical and surgical periodontal treatment, as appropriate to training and scope of practice.
- Periodontal maintenance and supportive periodontal care.
- Assessment and management of patients referred by external dental practices.
- Collaborative treatment planning and communication with referring dentists.
- Patient education, preventive advice and long-term periodontal care.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and adhering to relevant professional and regulatory standards.
