About the Role

Kingswood Medical Centre in Basildon, is looking for a salaried GP to join our friendly practice to work 2 to 4 sessions per week, on Fridays and Wednesdays. We are flexible with hours/sessions required and would welcome any discussion about working pattern and offer a generous salary for the post.

Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you would be supported by the senior clinicians, if required, and an accomplished admin team. We would be receptive to any special interests that the candidate may wish to pursue.

The successful candidate will undertake all general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care. 

  • Face to face, telephone and video consultations.
  • Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions.
  • Dealing with queries, paperwork, reports, and correspondence.
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation.
  • Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients.
  • Providing health education.
  • Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards using templates provided (Ardens).
  • Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements.
  • Delivering enhanced services in conjunction with the clinical team.

About the Candidate
All applicants should have the following qualifications:
  • Fully qualified GP with GMC registration.
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate).
  • Be on the NHSE medical performers list. 
  • Knowledge of SystmOne.
  • Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention & screening services. 
  • Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety. 
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills able to operate in a confidential manner.
About Us
 
We are a GMS non-dispensing practice and are lucky to operate from modern purpose-built premises.  We look after approximately 10,200 patients with a growing list size. We are incredibly proud of how we provide care for our patients. We are rated as CQC Good and are a high QOF achieving practice.
 
Our team consists of 2 GP Partners supported by 5 salaried GPs. We have two ANPs, practice nurses, HCAs, and also a variety of support staff from our PCN consisting of Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, MH practitioners and home visiting service.
