East Anglia Children's Hospices (EACH), has an opportunity for a clinical nurse specialist to join our team on a full-time basis, although part-time hours of over 30 per week can be considered. The position is to work Monday to Friday and will entail working on-call hours in addition to working hours.
Working within a large team of nurses and matrons at The Treehouse Hospice in Ipswich, this position will provide advanced level symptom management, care and support to children with life-threatening illnesses and complex health care needs.
Main responsibilities include;
- Participate in the 24/7 on-call rota, triaging telephone calls and undertake face-to-face visits to deliver symptom management service across the whole of EACH catchment area as required.
- Act as a contact point for symptom control and management issues within the region.
- Undertake clinical assessment/consultation.
- Manage a caseload within each catchment area.
- Develop and maintain specialist level palliative care knowledge and skills across a range of procedures and practices.
- Work collaboratively with the 'on-call' medical practitioners in the MCN/specialist team.
- Develop, review and evaluate comprehensive management plans coordinating and supporting their implementation.
